The body on this car is described as a Sports Sedanca on the original delivery sheet from Rolls-Royce. It is similar to the early "Town Cars" of American make. It is also similar to the Sedanca deVilles of other European makes, but is smaller and considered to exhibit superior performance.
The open front hood (a convertible top in America) is unique in that it is a one-piece hardtop completely concealed in the roof of the rear of the automobile. To put it in place, one cranks up the rear roof section and slides the front section out. After fastening the front section in place, the rear section is lowered back into place.
