Serial number 1 was built expressly for auction and sold at the inaugural Mandalay Bay sale to an Indiana collector for over $212,000.00. This, the second of the series produced was expressly built for Mr. Carroll Shelby’s personal collection. Having other pursuits, Mr. Shelby decided to offer his own Anniversary car for sale. This vehicle still retains his signature on title and the MSO copies of the original paperwork. Hand signed by Mr. Shelby for the new owner on both the glove box and under hood, this all aluminum Cobra has benefited from the “cost is no object” preparation by Shelby American for the legend himself. Featuring the new ALL aluminum 427 side-oiler engine and original Top Loader 4 speed transmission this Anniversary Cobra has been dyno tested to produce in excess of over 550 horsepower. An incredible level of attention to detail was mandated during the production of the Anniversary Cobra run as exemplified by this, the most collectable example built. Utilizing the very best of the best during construction the powder coated frame is wrapped in had formed aluminum and finished with Baer brakes, electronic fuel pump and all the S/C accouterments including side pipes, hood scoop, roll bar, and Goodyear Sports Special Racing tires.
